God has allowed me the privilege of teaching in various capacities for over thirty years. After graduating from BJU with a degree in Special & Elementary Education, my husband and I moved to Hawaii to teach at Ma'ili Bible School. We had the privilege of continuing to serve Ma'ili Bible Church as Bible teachers in the Fiji Islands for ten years. There, I was able to teach ESL and work with several Bible church kindergartens to help their students achieve literacy at an early age. We moved back to Hawaii in 2012 where I began teaching again in the school and my husband became the pastor of Ma'ili Bible Church.
Teaching children to enjoy learning, watching them understand a difficult concept, and seeing them choose to use God’s strength to overcome a difficulty are just a few of the many rewards of teaching. I am not a perfect teacher, but I serve a perfect, loving God, who gives me strength each day to face each new challenge. My desire for my students is that they understand their need for Christ in their lives and learn to draw on the strength that only He can give.
Pastor Jeff and I have 4 children and just added 2 granddaughters in the last year. We're going to welcome our 3rd grandchild next Spring. Our children have all been enrolled in MBS at one time or another as we moved in and out of Hawaii. The school has made a lasting influence on their lives.
God’s Word is the source of strength for our lives. I have found many verses that inspire me to place my trust in Christ, but Isaiah 40:31 has become my life verse. “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
