Ma'ili Bible School

Mrs. Thomas

I was blessed to be born and raised in Hawaii to Christian parents who took me to church every time the doors were open. From a young age, my parents’ example taught me that Jesus comes first, which inspired my desire to engage in missionary work in Hawaii. When I was a preteen, I decided that I wanted to become a missionary.

I was homeschooled throughout my life until I finished and attended college at Bob Jones University, graduating in 2007. During the summers, I returned to work at the same Christian camp in Waianae that I attended as a teen. It was during these summers that I realized I wanted to focus on missionary work in Hawaii, particularly to the keiki of Waianae, my home since I was 9 years old. As soon as I graduated, I came back and taught summer school at Maili Bible School, a ministry of my home church that emphasizes Christian education in Waianae. I taught here for 9 years.

When my husband and I were expecting our first child, I transitioned to office work for a little over two years, until I became a stay-at-home mom. I’ve spent almost 6 years at home raising our 3 children, and now they will all be attending Maili Bible School, allowing me to return to teaching. I am excited to resume my service and ministry to the keiki and families on the west coast of Oahu. Maili Bible School holds a special place in our hearts as my husband attended from 2nd grade until he graduated, and he now serves on the school board.

My life verse is 1 Samuel 12:24: “Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart: for consider what great things He hath done for you.”
