My name is Michael Schell. I was raised as a missionary kid in Pohnpei, Micronesia. During my senior year of high school my family and I moved to Yap, Micronesia, where I grew in my love for serving God in the islands. I first came to Ma'ili Bible the summer after my freshman year at Bob Jones University. I continued to come and be a part of Camp Kupono (in Wai'anae Valley) during the summers of my undergraduate and I fell in love with the people of Hawaii. I graduated in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Christian ministries, and in 2015 I achieved a master’s degree in Cross Cultural Studies. I have been teaching at Ma'ili Bible School for 7 years. I expect my students to be dedicated to learning and to grow in wisdom as they are growing academically. I want them to realize their full potential and to have goals for their futures. I want my students to learn that they can accomplish anything through hard work and determination.
My life verse is 1 Corinthians 15:58. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” This verse teaches me that I should be progressively serving God with my life because my life will not be wasted if I surrender it to God. A life spent serving God and others will not be in vain.
